Yung Tory: Speaks About His Latest Album “Tory Time”

Yung Tory, whose real name is Mr. Yaw Yaw, is a rising Canadian rapper from Mississauga, Ontario. Though born in Toronto, he spent much of his formative years in Atlanta, which significantly shaped his musical style. With Jamaican heritage, Tory blends rap with his Rastafarian lifestyle, incorporating his dedication to veganism into his persona.

Tory’s musical journey began as a toddler, rapping over beats on his father’s Xbox. Despite some misconceptions about his background, he grew up in Roche Court rather than Toronto itself. He first made waves in 2015 by signing with Lil Durk’s OTF label. However, it was his 2018 partnership with Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group and Def Jam Recordings that marked a pivotal moment in his career. His debut album, Rastar, was released in early 2019.
